Johnstone family tree
This basic family tree shows the descendants of Sir James Johnstone and Barbara Murray. Their eleven children who survived infancy (who are the main characters in The Inner Life) and their many grandchildren demonstrate the great variety in social position and experience within the Johnstone family.
