The first Chinese edition of The Wealth of Nations was translated by Yen Fu, the noted Chinese scholar, and published in 1902. Lin Ching-jun (Harvard A.M. 1922), president of Fukien Christian University, presented this first edition to Harvard Business School Dean Wallace Donham in May 1935. An accompanying message from President Lin to Dean Donham read "The scholar, Yen Fu, was an uncle of my wife's, so we take a special interest in his work."
