Paul Warde - Strategy and Tactics in the Environmental Revolution

William Conor, THE KELP GATHERERS. This talk provides a reflection on practicing as a historian in a time of environmental and political crisis through two apparently disparate topics: writing community-scale histories of the experience of the Industrial Revolution in far-flung places, and a consideration of the 1970 semi-autobiographical work The Environmental Revolution by scientist and policymaker Max Nicholson. The talk will partly consider Paul Warde's recent series of short essays on the Hebridean island of Tiree, which it may be useful to read in advance.
